Since both Uzbekistan and Germany are Hague Apostille Convention signatories, an apostille usually suffices — additional consular legalization is normally unnecessary. But there are exceptions worth knowing.
For Standesamt. Original certificate with apostille + sworn Russian-to-German translation by a Germany-sworn translator. The Bestattungsschein is then issued by the local Standesamt.
When additional legalization is required. For inheritance disputes or some notarial procedures the German consulate in Tashkent can apply an additional endorsement. Rare, €40–80, 1–2 weeks.
Translation. Only Germany-sworn translators (per Land Justice ministry lists). €80–150 per document. Alternatively: the German consulate in Tashkent can translate and certify together (€100–200, faster).
Inheritance. German probate courts usually accept apostilled+sworn-translated certificate plus heir-search. For substantial estates the court may require more proof.
Civil register. If burial is in Germany, the certificate is entered in the Standesregister. Standard 1–3 working days.
