This is the country's most under-claimed payment. A family spends millions on a funeral and learns about the 2 million UZS it was entitled to six months later — after the 60-day window has closed. Here it is point by point: how much, for whom, where, and by when.
How much it pays. The benefit equals 4 × the pension calculation base (БВИП). From 1 July 2026 that base is 504,000 UZS, making the benefit about 2,016,000 UZS. The base is indexed alongside pensions, so confirm the current figure at the bank or on my.gov.uz on the day you apply — the entitlement is tied to a formula, not a fixed sum.
Who is eligible. A spouse, parents, children, other relatives, or the deceased's legal representative. Failing those — any person who took on the duty of burial. That last clause matters: a neighbour, colleague or friend can claim it if they actually organised the funeral. No proof of kinship is required in that case.
Documents required. Just two: the death certificate issued by the civil registry, and the claimant's passport. No employer letters, statements or mahalla letters. If someone lists additional documents, that is not a legal requirement.
Where to apply. Two routes. In person at any Khalq Bank branch, with no tie to your registered district. Or online via the unified state services portal my.gov.uz, where the service is processed remotely. The online route is convenient if the claimant is in another city or abroad.
Timing. The benefit is granted on the day of application and paid the same day. The claim must be filed within 60 days of the death. This is a hard deadline — after it, the entitlement lapses. Practical advice: apply as soon as the death certificate is in hand, without waiting for the mourning days to end.
What changed. Since 2021 the benefit has been granted to family members automatically, even if they do not apply. The mechanism works from civil-registry data, but do not rely on it alone: if nothing arrives, apply yourself — the 60-day clock keeps running. The procedure is governed by the regulation approved by decree No. 174 of 14 June 2011.
What it actually covers. In regional cities — nearly the entire burial. In Bukhara, Nukus, Karshi and Urgench a Muslim rite with the mahalla costs 0.6–2.2 million UZS, which fits inside the payment. In Tashkent the benefit covers roughly a third of a modest format. It never covers the memorial meal or the monument — those are separate.
